Positive Thought for the day

I will be trying to put Postivities on daily. A lot of self help authors say to repeat Postivities daily and put them in the present as if it is already a reality not in the future because the subconsious mind will keep what your working toward in the future. So I will be posting Postivities that you can repeat daily

Positivity
Life is a game and I consistently strive to compete at the highest level of my potential.

"I've come to believe that all my past failure and frustration were actually laying the foundation for the understandings that have created the new level of living I now enjoy."

~Anthony (Tony) Robbins

"If we do not know what port we're steering for, no wind is favorable."

--Seneca

"There is a science of getting rich, and it is an exact science, like algebra or arithmetic. There are certain laws which govern the process of acquiring riches, and once these laws are learned and obeyed by anyone, that person will get rich with mathematical certainty."

--Wallace D. Wattles

"The reality of life is that your perceptions - right or wrong - influence everything else you do. When you get a proper perspective of your perceptions, you may be surprised how many other things fall into place."

--Roger Birkman

From the daily motivator

The other side of fear
Most of your fears would disappear if you would simply decide to walk right up to them. Fear has only the power that you give it. Your fears can intimidate you or they can illuminate you. The choice is entirely up to you.

Your fears can stop you or they can prepare you. And you get to decide which it will be.

Listen to each fear just long enough to absorb the useful and reasonable information it may contain. Then realize that once that is done, it is time to move on beyond the fear.

On the other side of fear, there is value, there is accomplishment, there is fulfillment. See fear as the gateway that it is, and make the choice to carefully and persistently go through it.

Allow the fear to prepare you well, then move on past it. And be amazed at the great things you can do.

-- Ralph Marston

Joke

The Titanic Test
Recently a teacher, a garbage collector, and a lawyer wound up together at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter informed them that in order to get into Heaven, they would each have to answer one question.

St. Peter addressed the teacher and asked, "What was the name of the ship that crashed into the iceberg? They just made a movie about it."

The teacher answered quickly, "That would be the Titanic." St.Peter let him through the gate.

St. Peter turned to the garbage man and, figuring Heaven didn't REALLY need all the odors that this guy would bring with him, decided to make the question a little harder: "How many people died on the ship?"

Fortunately for him, the trash man had just seen the movie, and answered, "1,228."

"That's right! You may enter."

St. Peter then turned to the lawyer. "Name them."

Flight Engineer in Panama
As a flight engineer, I had been stationed in Panama for several months before the December 1989 invasion. Ever since I began my air force flying career, my mother has been concerned about my safety. So I expected a long letter from her expressing her anxiety.

But what she sent was a sheet of paper containing six words: KICK THEIRS. PROTECT YOURS. LOVE, MOM.

Positive Thought for the day

I will be trying to put Postivities on daily. A lot of self help authors say to repeat Postivities daily and put them in the present as if it is already a reality not in the future because the subconsious mind will keep what your working toward in the future. I make a difference with everything I do for I see the opportunity in every challenge.

"One's best success comes after his greatest disappointments."

~Henry Ward Beecher

When you rise in the morning, form a resolution to make the day a happy one for a fellow creature.

-Sydney Smith

To live through an impossible situation, you don't need the reflexes of a Grand Prix driver, the muscles of a Hercules, the mind of an Einstein. You simply need to know what to do."

--Anthony Greenbank

"It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult."

--Seneca

From the daily motivator

Raise your expectations
It can be tempting to lower your expectations when things are not going your way. Yet the most realistic response is not to lower your expectations, but in fact to raise them higher. It may seem that lowering your expectations so they're more in line with your reality would protect you from disappointment. Yet lowering your expectations is sure to bring on even more disappointment.

If you're disappointed with the results you're getting, it's not because your expectations are too high. It's because those expectations are not high enough to pull you forward.

Raise your expectations to the point where they become so meaningful and compelling that you cannot help but fulfill them. Choose those expectations that will drive you in each moment to do what must be done to reach them.

When the going gets rough, the answer is not to give up on your dreams. The answer is to grab on to those dreams, and to put them front and center in your life.

Set your expectations high, connect solidly and consistently with them, and those expectations will give a positive, effective direction to your life. Expect the very best, and let those expectations drive you to live out your most cherished dreams.

-- Ralph Marston

Joke

Money for the Preacher
After the church service a little boy told the pastor, "When I grow up, I'm going to give you some money."

"Well, thank you," the pastor replied, "but why?"

"Because my daddy says you're one of the poorest preachers we've ever had."

Tight Shoes
A man walks into a shoe store, and tries on a pair of shoes.

"How do they feel?" asks the sales clerk.

"Well, they feel a bit tight." replies the man.

The assistant promptly bends down and has a look at the shoes and the mans feet.

"Try pulling out on the tongue." offers the clerk.

"Nath theyth sthill feelth a bith tighth." He says.

From the daily motivator

A magical place
The world is a magical place. Just because you have grown accustomed to the magic does not make it any less so. Look out in any direction, and think about what you see. You see life, you see beauty, you see possibilities, you see fulfillment, you see all these magical things happening.

You've gotten used to what you know and to what you can do. Remember, though, that you can experience so very much more.

You have the ability to imagine, and then to take whatever you imagine and make it real. What could possibly be more magical than that?

Everything you now know has been put in place by that same sort of magic. Whatever you would like to know and to experience is waiting for you to make it so.

This moment is your opportunity to work your own special magic. Imagine the very best, and then through the magic of your life you can make it so.

Joke

One Way Trip to Mars
NASA was interviewing professionals they were thinking of sending to Mars. The touchy part was that only one guy could go and it would be a one-way trip, the guy not ever returning to Earth.

The interviewer asked the first applicant, an engineer, how much he wanted to be paid for going. "One million dollars," the engineer answered. "And I want to donate it all to my alma mater--Rice University."

The next applicant was a doctor, and the interviewer asked him the same question. Two millions dollars, the doctor said. "I want to give a million to my family and leave the other million for the advancement of medical research."

The last applicant was a lawyer. When asked how much money he wanted, he whispered in the interviewer's ear, "Three million dollars."

"Why so much more than the others?" the interviewer asked.

The lawyer replied, "You give me three million, I'll give you one million, I'll keep a million, and we'll send the engineer."

Sometimes the most important thing in a whole day is the rest we take between two deep breaths.

From the daily motivator

Beautiful new beginning
Never before has life held as much promise as it does on this very day. The possibilities open to you right now are more wonderful and abundant than they have ever been. You may be suffering under the sad illusion that the best days of your life have already come and gone. Choose now to see beyond that self-imposed limiting thought.

Open your eyes to the beautiful truth that the things in your life with real value and meaning never decline or decay. The longer you live with purpose and sincerity, the more intensely you experience true love and joy.

It may seem that your mistakes have been piled on top of mistakes, and that nothing can free you from your burdensome regrets. Yet the freedom you seek is as close as the next moment.

Every beauty you've ever imagined is real, and exists in you right now. Every joy that you've ever glimpsed is yours to live and to express any time you choose.

You stand in this moment at a beautiful new beginning, full of promise and possibility. See it, know it, live it, and allow the joy to flow more abundantly than ever before.

-- Ralph Marston

Joke

Queen Size
A little boy went to the store with his grandmother and on the way home, he was looking at the things she had purchased.

He found a package of panty hose and began to sound out the words "Queen Size".

He then turned to his grandmother and exclaimed,

"Look Grandma, you wear the same size as our bed!"

Flower Switch
A new business was opening, and one of the owner's friends wanted to send him flowers for the occasion. They arrived at the new business site, and the owner read the card, which said, "Rest in Peace."

The owner was angry and called the florist to complain.

After he told the florist of the obvious mistake and how angry he was, the florist replied, "Sir, I'm really sorry for the mistake, but rather than getting angry, you should imagine this: Somewhere there is a funeral taking place, and they have flowers with a note saying, 'Congratulations on your new location.'"

Who's going to stop me?
Six year old Angie, and her four-year old brother, Joel, were sitting together in church. Joel giggled, sang and talked out loud. Finally, his big sister had had enough. "You're not suppose to talk out loud in church."

"Why? Who's going to stop me?" Joel asked.

Angie pointed to the back of the church and said, "See those two men standing by the door? They're hushers."

Smoke Detector
The smoke detector industry is covering up research showing more people are injured every year falling from ladders and stepstools while trying to replace smoke detector batteries than are injured in house fires.

-Henry Ford

Only the birds are able to throw off their shadow. The shadow always stays behind on earth. Our imagination flies. We are its shadow on the earth.

-Vladimir Nabokov

From the daily motivator

The authentic you
Life's most beautiful and fulfilling moments are the most sincere and authentic ones. When you are being yourself, that is when you are at your best. Why do you so quickly latch on to someone else's idea of success, while at the same time ignoring your own authentic dreams? Why do you so easily dismiss your own instincts and intuitions?

Others may claim to be experts in this field or that. Remember, though, that you are the expert when it comes to your own life.

Listen to the longings of your heart. Pay attention to that little voice inside of you.

For that voice knows you well. It knows what you can accomplish, what brings you joy, and what things you most highly value.

When something feels right, that's a reliable sign that it is. Choose to live each moment as the authentic person you are, and from those moments you will create much real and lasting richness.

-- Ralph Marston

Joke

Are caterpillars good to eat?
Johnny: Daddy, are caterpillars good to eat?

Father: Have I not told you never to mention such things during meals!

Mother: Why did you say that, Junior? Why did you ask the question?

Johnny: It's because I saw one on daddy's lettuce, but now it's gone.

Keep an Eye on Your Cousin

"I thought I told you to keep an eye on your cousin," the mother said. "Where is he?"

From the daily motivator

Stepping back
Imagine that you can a step back from yourself, far enough back to get a good, objective look at the way you are. What do you think you would see? You already know what it's like to be you from the inside. Think for a moment how it would be to encounter you from the outside.

Consider how your words, your actions and your priorities look when viewed objectively. Think of the advice you would want to give if you were to observe yourself for a while from the outside.

Stand back and watch the way you spend your time. Look closely at what really works for you, and at what really doesn't.

Though it is unwise to become obsessed with what others think of you, it is smart to regularly consider your life from an objective viewpoint. It can give you a new appreciation for your strengths and will help to point out areas where you can make valuable improvements.

In your imagination, every now and then, take a step back, and then take a good look. See yourself with objective eyes, and discover new ways to make life better and better.

Joke

Good News and Bad News
An old man visits his doctor and after thorough examination the doctor tells him: "I have good news and bad news, what would you like to hear first?"

Patient: "Well, let me have the bad news first."

Doctor: "You have cancer, I estimate that you have about two years left."

Patient: "Oh no! That's just awful! In two years my life will be over! What kind of good news could you probably tell me, after this?"

Doctor: "You also have Alzheimer's. In about three months you are going to forget everything I told you."

Info from the Doctor
A little old woman called Mount Sinai Hospital. She said, "Mount Sinai Hospital? Hello. Darling, I'd like to talk with the person who gives the information about the patients. But I don't want to know if the patient is better or doing like expected, or worse, I want all the information from top to bottom, from A to Z."

The voice on the other end of the line said, "Would you hold the line, please, that's a very unusual request?"

Then a very authoritative voice came on and said, "Are you the lady who is calling about one of the patients?"

She said, "Yes, darling! I'd like to know the information about Sarah Finkel, in room 302."

He said, "Finkel. Finkel. Let me see. Feinberg, Farber - Finkel. Oh yes, Mrs. Finkel is doing very well. In fact, she's had two full meals, her doctor says if she continues improving as she is, he is going to send her home Tuesday at twelve o'clock."

The woman said, "Thank God! That's wonderful! She's going home at twelve o'clock! I'm so happy to hear that. That's wonderful news."

The guy on the other end said, "From your enthusiasm, I take it you must be one of the close family?"

She said, "What close family? I'm Sarah Finkel! My doctor don't tell me nothing!"

"You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them."

~Michael Jordan

From the daily motivator

Focus on abundance
Choose to let your troubles remind you of your blessings. Challenge yourself to focus your attention on the positive influences and possibilities in your life. No matter how difficult the situation, that difficulty will always be outweighed by the goodness to which you are connected. Each and every good thing in your life that you call to mind will help to melt away the anxiety and strengthen your sense of peaceful purpose.

When troubles come along, respond by making a mental list of the good things in your life. You'll quickly realize that they are far too numerous to ever completely count.

Turn your attention to the things of real value with which you are blessed. It will illuminate new possibilities and inject positive energy into your efforts.

Thinking of one thing for which you can be thankful leads you right to another, and another, and yet another. That kind of thinking will point you out of the darkness and into the light.

Focus on the real abundance in your life. And your loving attention will make that abundance grow.

Joke

We could have been here sooner
An elderly couple were killed in an accident and found themselves being given a tour of heaven by Saint Peter. "Here is your oceanside condo, over there are the tennis courts, swimming pool, and two golf courses. If you need any refreshments, just stop by any of the many bars located throughout the area." "Heck, Gloria," the old man hissed when Saint Peter walked off, "we could have been here ten years ago if you hadn't heard about all that stupid oat bran, wheat germ, and low-fat diets!"

Words to live by

Words to live by, a page from Life`s Little Guidebook

1 Give people more than they expect, and do it cheerfully.
2 When you say ," I love you", mean it.
3 When you say ,Im sorry ,look the person in the eye.
4 Never laugh at anyone`s dreams. People who don`t have dreams don`t have much.
5 Love deeply and passionatley. You may get hurt, but it is the only way to live life completely. 6 In disagreements, fight fair. No name calling. I know there is a saying sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. But thats not true words can hurt, or do alot of good. So only speak positive words about someone.
7 Teach yourself to speak slowly but think quickly.
8 Take into account that great love and great achievement involve great risk.
9 When you lose, don`t lose the lesson.
10 Follow the 3 Rs: Respect for self, Respect for others, and Responsibility for all your actions.

Joke

They were promptly stopped by a policeman who said, "What do you think you are doing? What if you have an accident?"

The priests say, "Don't worry, my son. Jesus is with us."

Magnificent treasure
They wait patiently in the back of your mind, gently reminding you from time to time of their presence. Each time they come to the surface, you feel a tinge of longing and wonder and excitement. You consider them for a moment, and then you usually push them back away from your awareness. Something, seemingly more urgent, comes along.

Yet they never completely go away. Because there is something in them that tells you about who you are.

What are they? They're the best of your unexplored possibilities.

You hold on to them, keep them buried away, and cherish them deeply in your own way. Maybe now, though, maybe it is time to begin giving life to them.

The next time one of those unexplored possibilities reminds you of itself, do more than just putting it back away. For in the best of those unexplored possibilities, there is magnificent treasure to be found.

Joke

Criminal Masterminds - New Jersey
A Newark woman reporting her car as stolen mentioned that there was a car phone in it. The policeman taking the report called the phone and told the guy that answered that he had read the ad in the newspaper and wanted to buy the car. They arranged to meet, and the thief was arrested.

Idiots In The Neighborhood
I live in a semi-rural area. We recently had a new neighbor call the local township administrative office to request the removal of the Deer Crossing sign on our road. The reason: too many deer were being hit by cars and he didn't want them to cross there anymore.
